Window Cleaning in Remuera

The Homes We Clean in Remuera

The housing stock here is older and more detailed than most of Auckland. Grand Edwardian villas along Victoria Avenue, Californian bungalows through the flatter streets, and large family homes climbing the slopes of Ōhinerau Mount Hobson, many of them with original leadlight, timber sashes and steep gable windows that sit well above ladder height. We also clean a steady run of modern rebuilds around Upland Road where the design brief was clearly glass first, with double height stairwell windows and sliders running the width of the living area.

Common Window Problems in Remuera

The tree canopy is the main culprit in Remuera. Mature oaks, planes and pohutukawa drop sap, pollen and fine debris across glass right through spring, and on north facing windows that bakes on in the afternoon sun until it needs proper work to remove. The second issue is irrigation. Plenty of Remuera gardens run sprinklers, and bore or tank water leaves white calcium spotting along the bottom third of ground floor glass that will not come off with a household spray. Older leadlight panels need a gentler hand again, because harsh chemicals attack the came and the putty over time.

How We Work in Remuera

Being a hillside suburb, a lot of Remuera properties have their best glass facing north over the harbour or back towards the city, and that is usually the hardest to reach. Our water fed poles reach three storeys from the ground, so we can clean high gable and stairwell windows without leaning ladders against your guttering or tracking through the garden beds. Access along the narrower parts of Victoria Avenue and Upland Road is tight, so we park considerately and work off the smallest footprint we can.
